Ross should have not rushed to release this album, and just tried to make it better than it was, or just made it a mixtape. The material is repetitive, and the quality is bad. But the worst song on the album belongs to "Keep Doin That (Rich B*****)" with R. Project Pat couldn't save "Elvis Presley Blvd" with it's terrible hook. A few of the worst ones are songs such as "Coke Like The 80's" with its annoying hook (sounds like he is saying "I got Coke like the ace"). The rest of the songs here are pretty bad. "Brimstone" with Big KRIT on the hook is another one of the few standouts. Lil Boosie sounds rejuvenated while saving the song "Nickel Rock". Michelle on the hook is a song that works perfectly. Snoop saves "Quintessential" from being a total waste. "Movin Bass" was solid, surprisingly having Jay-Z on the hook. "Trap Luv" featuring Yo Gotti was the first standout to me. Then it wouldn't look as bad for him seeing the quality of the material of the music.Īfter listening to the album, I found only a few songs worth mentioning.
I feel that if he was going to release this, he should have made it a mixtape than an actual album.
Another reason why I don't like this album is that there are NO features from his MMG group. The fact that he did the whole releasing two albums on a major label in one year, and both not as good as quality really damages his credibility as an artist. I guess you can say that this should have been called Mastermind 2, because this is pretty much what I am listening to (Mastermind was slightly better than this).
Pretty much all he did was change the title. The reason I say this album is bad is because of the fact that he released the same exact album earlier in 2014. I never expect him to become an astounding lyricist, or anything close to that level. Let me get one thing straight: I am highly aware of Rick Ross' limited subject matter when he raps.
